Genoa The CFC Genoa has signed the former Ukrainian national coach Andrei Shevchenko as their new coach. As the Serie A club announced, the 45-year-old Shevchenko will receive a contract until June 2024.
The Ukrainian, who made 111 international appearances in his professional career, will succeed Davide Ballardini, from whom Genoa split after the 2-2 draw at FC Empoli on Friday.
The table-17. reacted with the change of coach to the lack of success in the current season, in which the team could land only one win in twelve games. Shevchenko had let his contract as national coach in his home country expire after the EM this year.
