FCK professional Boris Tomiak: from newcomer to regular player

He hasn’t been around for long, but has developed into a real size within the 1. FC Kaiserslautern team in recent games: Boris Tomiak scored his third goal of the season in the 2-0 win against Saarbrücken. Today, Sunday, he is a guest at SWR Sport RLP.

Boris Tomiak is a child of the Ruhr area – a real Essen boy. He spent his youth here and played for several clubs in the “Pott”. His first stop at all was FC Stoppenberg eV, a small football club in Essen. He moved into the ranks of the professionals in 2017 through appearances in the youth team of SSV Rotthausen, Schalke 04 and Rot-Weiss Essen: Boris Tomiak was more and more convincing. In 2019, SG Wattenscheid 09 came up to the then 21-year-old, to which he then also switched.

But it wasn’t for a long time. The traditional club from Bochum filed for bankruptcy three months later. Tomiak is known for his mentality on the pitch. He is strong at the head, has a high degree of flexibility on the defensive and convinces with his strength in duels. Boris Tomiak has been stabilizing the FCK’s triple chain for many weeks and has played a major role in the fact that after a difficult start to the season, FCK is now at the top with 22 points.
