100th competitive goal for Hoffenheim? Andrej Kramaric chasing records

In order not to lose the connection to the Europa League places again, TSG Hoffenheim must win at VfL Bochum. If we won, there might be something else to celebrate.

An away win would be due again – and it is another club record for top striker Andrej Kramaric: At TSG Hoffenheim, in the Bundesliga game at VfL Bochum (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.) everyone is looking at the 30-year-old Croat, who turns 100 .Could achieve competitive goal for the Kraichgauer.

“He’s a record hunter”

“He is a record hunter, he will chase this record again and crack it very quickly,” said Hoffenheim’s coach Sebastian Hoeneß. Kramaric currently has 99 hits. When asked whether the attacker would spend something after the 100th, Hoeneß said: “It’s an unbelievable number, and I’m sure: Andrej will come up with something when it gets to three digits.”

So far 84 Bundesliga goals

Sejad Salihovic is the second best shooter in TSG club history to have 67 competitive goals. In the Bundesliga, Kramaric has long been the club’s record scorer with 84 goals so far. This season, the 2018 runner-up has only scored twice, but is the best preparer with six assists after ten game days after Thomas Müller from FC Bayern Munich (7). Last season, Kramaric set a personal record with 20 goals and exceeded Vedad Ibisevic’s Hoffenheim record of 2009 (18).

For the recently successful Hoffenheimers at their home in Sinsheim, Bochum is mainly about winning again for the first time after the 4-0 win in Augsburg on the first day of the match. “We have a strong team, we have to show that every week,” said Kramaric last time after the 2-0 win against Hertha BSC. The Hoeneß team was too fickle for a long time this season. After all, in the bottom of the table, the connection to the Europa League places is made.

Weak away so far

Away, TSG only got four out of fifteen possible points. And now Kramaric and Co. meet an opponent who remained clean in three of their four home games. “Be wide awake!” Therefore demanded Hoeneß of his professionals. “Bochum will start at home like the fire brigade. It’s an unpleasant team, especially at home with the fans behind them.”

The TSG coach can use David Raum, who was last missing due to a capsule injury. The national player was represented very well against Hertha by Robert Skov, the Dane prepared both goals. Hoeneß therefore left it open how he would decide.

In addition to the long-term injuries Ermin Bicakcic, Marco John and Pavel Kaderabek, Benjamin Hübner is also no longer available. “Benni is healthy and is training fully again,” said Hoeneß. Due to the lack of training after more than a year of downtime, the captain is not yet an option for the squad.
