Man United's Marcus Rashford responds to claims he was 'furious' after scoring against Tottenham

Rashford vs Tottenham scores

Saturday night’s Premier League offer would see Tottenham host Manchester United.

The tie, before kick-off, seemed like a decisive matter for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his future at Man United.

The Spurs haven’t been in great shape as of late, and a loss to Nuno Espirito Santo’s team would undoubtedly have had the Red Devils’ faithful ask for Solskjaer’s head.

However, when all was said and done at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the visitors walked away with a resounding 3-0 victory.

The first 45 proved to be a cautious and quality private affair, as United aimed to familiarize itself with a new system.

But of course Cristiano Ronaldo would step up to score an impressive volley in the 39th minute.

CR7 then became supplier shortly after the hour mark, setting up fellow forward for the day, Edinson Cavani, who made it 2-0.

This was followed by Marcus Rashford coming off the bench to put the last nail in the Spurs’ coffin after 86 minutes.

Rashford responds to ‘furious’ claims

After Rashford scored against Tottenham, Owen Hargreaves has reclaimed that was seen in the celebration of the English who fumed:

“I think you could see it at his celebration, he was furious.

But when two legends of the game are playing in front of you, it’s hard to complain in a way.

“He [Solskjaer] He’s never going to leave Ronaldo, he needed someone else there and Cavani was fabulous last season. He probably deserved to start earlier. “

However, Rashford has since taken to Twitter to dismiss these comments, tweeting the following in response to the Daily Mail article:

Fuming at the manager ?! We won the game, that celebration was pure relief! It has been a difficult week …

Rashford has started just one league game since returning from injury. But even with Solskjaer seemingly favoring a 3-5-2, Rashford should still have a chance to play regularly as a forward.
