Solskjaer saving his job
Another season, another crisis at Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in the Old Trafford dugout for almost three years, but there has been very little improvement.
José Mourinho, considered a failure during his time in Manchester, remains the manager with the highest total points in the Premier League (81 in 2017/18) since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club.
The Portuguese also won two trophies, the League Cup and the Europa League, while Louis van Gaal guided Man United to an FA Cup.
Solskjaer, for his part, has not won a single trophy and has yet to match Mourinho’s points record.
And, just like we saw in October, Ole is simply not good enough to take Manchester United where it is needed.
Man United runs the risk of making a mistake by Pochettino with Conte
It was reported after the 5-0 beating at the hands of Liverpool that Solskjaer had three games to save his job and, with a 3-0 win over Tottenham secured since then, the Norwegian appears to be safe for now.
However, there is a very strong case to say that regardless of the results, Man United must part ways with Solskjaer as soon as possible.
This is now the 2North Dakota or 3rd Once Ole has had his back to the wall after a streak of very poor results, but he always does enough to keep his job.
Man United, however, shouldn’t be looking to settle for this and, with Solskjaer’s three years yet to handle a single trophy or any form of challenge for the royal title, it’s obviously not good enough.
However, a coach who probably would have been good enough was Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine was fired by Tottenham on 19th November 2019 and was not appointed head of PSG until January 2021.
That left the South American available for Man United to sign for over a year, but they persisted with the mediocre Solskjaer despite being linked with Pochettino.
Now, in the midst of United’s latest crisis, he once again seems poised for a similar problem with Antonio Conte.
After losing 5-0 to Liverpool, rumors of Antonio Conte taking over Old Trafford began to rise seriously.
However, instead of pulling the trigger on Solskjaer last week and pushing all in for Conte, United gave Ole more time and now it looks like he will miss the Italian.
This is because Tottenham, who were beaten by Man United on Saturday night, already fired their manager on Monday and are now looking for a move for Conte.
So despite experiencing their crisis before Spurs, Man United looks like they will miss out on Conte, who is a world-class coach and has already proven his mettle in the Premier League, all because they insist on giving an average manager more. time to prove yourself. before inevitably experiencing another crisis in a few months and never earning anything again.
