A pair of Manchester United stars have received special praise, following the club’s beating of Tottenham.
Defeat CR7 Leads
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, of course, got his team back in action just a short time ago.
Amid mounting pressure on the Norwegian’s shoulders, United traveled to North London for a Premier League showdown with the aforementioned Tottenham.
And, at the final whistle, to say that Solskjaer’s players got ahead in their time of need would be to put it lightly.
A complete stellar display finally culminated with the Red Devils leaving the capital with all three points, courtesy of a dominant 3-0 victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo proved to be the star of the show, opening the scoring with a precision volley effort, before taking Edinson Cavani out for two just after the hour mark:

And there was even time for Marcus Rashford to add some sparkle to the scoreboard later, coming off the bench to take advantage of Tottenham’s massive bottom line with his third in four games.
Cavani and Varane acclaimed
In turn, after an overall good day for Manchester United supporters, a host of club stars have received praise since then, for good reason.
The likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and the aforementioned Ronaldo shone throughout the action, playing key roles in the final result.
However, as described above, it was the introduction of two players in particular to the visitors’ starting XI tonight that Red Devils faithful feel made the difference.
Those in question? Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani.
Stopper Varane, of course, had spent the last few weeks on the sidelines with an injury he sustained while on international duty, while veteran hitman Cavani had simply struggled to secure a starting spot at this point in the campaign.
Against Tottenham, however, both were used early on in the middle of a line-up change, and Manchester United looked much better for it …
Cavani, and especially Varane, made a huge difference today. Send France a sick note for the next international break.

A bit frantic at times, understandable under the circumstances. Big improvement on all of them from last week, he thought AWB / McTom had their best games in a long time.
Varane makes a big difference and Cavani should be the starter from now on.
He did everything that was asked of him today.

I complained about the starting line-up, but the 2 people who have come in Varane and Cavani have been excellent and made a difference. Wan Bassaka has also been very good, I thought he would have problems in this system, but he has done well tonight. However, the Spurs have been horrendous!

Cavani and Varane are simply … elite. I felt the difference. It was there. Well done 🤝

#Varane made a big difference in the back.#Cavani made a huge difference from the beginning.
Maybe it’s just the Spurs, but I’m happy with that performance.
We return on Tuesday … and next Saturday 🔴⚪⚫ #UTFR
