Manchester City forward ruled out for month for broken foot

Manchester City forward ruled out for month for broken foot

Ferran Torres stars in the Nations League

The Nations League finals saw Ferran Torres take center stage in the semi-final, with the Spaniard deployed as the sole striker for The Red Fury.

It worked like a charm too, as Spain ended Italy’s long unbeaten streak thanks to a brace from the Manchester City man, following two assists from Mikel Oyarzabal.

However, he limped out of the game, leaving many fans in Spain and Manchester City holding their breath. However, Torres started again in the final against France, managing 84 minutes, this time on the right wing. In turn, he had apparently gotten over any concerns about injuries.

This did not turn out to be the case.

Torres ruled out for more than a month

According to the Spanish media Marca, Torres was actually injured in international service, and it is more serious than initially feared. The 21-year-old, who is now returning to Manchester, has suffered a minor fracture to his foot after tests at his club.

As a result, the forward will miss up to six weeks of action, knocking him out of ties with Greece and Switzerland internationally, as well as club matches against Burnley, West Ham, Everton and the Manchester derby.

With substantial firepower in their arsenal, Manchester City apparently won’t miss the striker too much, but it could be a different scenario for Spain, for whom he has become a key figure.
