Chelsea confirms double push ahead of Brentford clash

Chelsea confirms double push ahead of Brentford clash

Chelsea confirmed the return of two senior players to first-team training on Tuesday.

Brentford vs Chelsea

Chelsea will return to Premier League action on Saturday 16th October.

The Blues will face Brentford in the last Premier League game of the day.

Chelsea enters the game having enjoyed an excellent start to the 2021/22 campaign.

Of course, they would face their first league loss out of the season at the hands of Manchester City shortly before the international break in October.

However, Thomas Tuchel’s side was still able to top the league standings heading into halftime thanks to Liverpool, which are the only undefeated team in PL this season, drawing three games.

And with Chelsea now set for a series of much kinder games on paper, Londoners are expected to remain in the title image for some time.

However, Brentford is not expected to be easy to convince. The Bees have enjoyed a good start to their first Premier League campaign, winning three, drawing three and losing one of their first seven ties – beating Arsenal and drawing Liverpool in the process.

Chelsea confirms Kante and James return to training

Before the game, Chelsea received two big boosts on Tuesday.

N’Golo Kante would miss Chelsea’s last two outings against Juventus and Southampton with Covid-19.

Reece James, meanwhile, had to withdraw from the England team recently with an ankle problem.

Now, however, Chelsea has confirmed that both Kante and James returned to training with the Londoners on Tuesday:

Midfielder N’Golo Kante has returned to full training at Cobham after his period of self-isolation, while Reece James was also involved after retiring from the England team last week due to an ankle injury he sustained at the match against Manchester City.
