Who will be on the bench for Newcastle United’s clash with Tottenham?

Revealed: Who will be on the bench for Newcastle United's clash with Tottenham?

Newcastle acquisition is complete

On Thursday afternoon, the news finally broke that Newcastle fans desperately wanted to hear. Mike Ashley, for 14 years the scourge of the soccer club, had been freed from his Northeast club property and instead the Saudi Public Investment Fund had taken over as new owners.

Now backed by the richest owners in world football, but sitting in the relegation zone without a win, the Magpies are sure to spend money in January to avoid a somewhat humiliating relegation to England’s second division.

Bruce will be relieved of his duties before the clash against Tottenham

Now, in somewhat unexpected news, Newcastle manager Steve Bruce will be replaced ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur clash, according to the Daily mirror.

It was thought that while Bruce’s job was on the edge of safety, he would at least take over the game against the Spurs, in a few weeks.

However, the new owner clearly feels otherwise, and reportedly plans to replace it with his number 2, Graeme Jones, for the foreseeable future while they look for a replacement.

According to the report, it all has to do with the direction the club is taking, and the article says:

“Steve Bruce will be fired this week as the hierarchy of the Premier League team decided that the Magpies need a new direction.”

The question, of course, will be whether Graeme Jones can get more success with the same players.
