Tottenham boss Paratici talks about ties with Dusan Vlahovic

Tottenham boss Paratici talks about the persecution of Dusan Vlahovic

Tottenham Hotspur manager Fabio Paratici spoke tonight amid the club’s ongoing ties to Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.

Viola feeling

Of course, regular spectators of Italian football have long been used to the talent of Serbian talent Vlahovic.

After first displaying his talents en route to 6 Serie A goals in the 2019/20 campaign, the 21-year-old burst onto the scene last time, finding the net 21 times while lining up for a frankly average team of the Fiorentina.

The international, 11 times international, possesses a host of stellar attributes, including aerial prowess and a remarkable ability to finish half the chances.

Meanwhile, these traits were fully on display during the summer, when Vlahovic’s scoring exploits finally began to garner widespread attention across the continent.

Surprisingly, during a preseason friendly with Polisportiva’s minnows, the Serb scored no fewer than 7 (SEVEN) goals, despite being introduced from the bench at half-time.

‘For now…’

And these stellar feats have also been carried out in the opening months of the new campaign, as Vlahovic racked up six goals in eight appearances between Serie A and Coppa Italia.

In turn, it should come as no surprise to learn that a slew of clubs across the continent have started sniffing out the forward’s signature lately.

The summer window, for example, saw people like Arsenal, Manchester city and Juventus all inclined as possible landing sites.

However, the team most persistently linked to a real big money raid for Vlahovic was without question Tottenham Hotspur.

Amidst Harry Kane’s ongoing outbound links, the hierarchy in the Lilywhite half of North London is understood having identified Fiorentina’s main man as the ideal replacement.

In the end, a move evidently fell through, but, as described above, this weekend the Spurs gave a glimpse of their stance on the Vlahovic signing.

In an interview with the Festival dello Sport, football director Fabio Paratici appeared for the first time willing to downplay ties with the hitman, suggesting that he is not in the sights of the capital’s giants.

From here, however, the Tottenham boss dropped a not-too-subtle hint about a possible future raid …

“Dusan Vlahovic is appreciated by many clubs, it is normal. It’s not in our plans … for now.
