Takehiro Tomiyasu sends a message to Arsenal fans after taking the first individual award

Arsenal star Takehiro Tomiyasu took to social media this weekend to send a message of thanks to the club’s fan base.

Tomi passed through the door

Japanese international Tomiyasu, of course, marked the final arrival at the end of a busy summer in the red half of North London.

In the midst of a long overdue effort to rejuvenate the Emirates team, Edu and company. oversaw a series of movements on both the incoming and outgoing front.

In terms of the latter, people like Joe Willock, Hector Bellerin and David Luiz were transferred, either on loan or permanently.

Through the gate of the English capital, meanwhile, no less than six players entered.

Before the window slammed shut, all of Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Nuno Tavares, and Sambi Lokonga were brought in to reinforce Mikel Arteta’s ranks.

Then, on the day of the deadline in late August, there were much-needed additions to the right back as well.

After the aforementioned Bellerin was granted passage to Real Betis, the Gunners pounced decisively to lure Takehiro Tomiyasu to the Emirates from Serie A Bologna:

‘Thanks’

And Tomiyasu, a versatile 22-year-old defender with experience in both one of Europe’s top divisions and on the international stage, has since enjoyed a magnificent start in England.

Just days after his arrival, the Japanese got off to a start in Arsenal’s Premier League meeting with Norwich City, impressing on the way to a clean sheet, followed by another a week later in a close win over Burnley.

‘Tomi’ shone once again as Mikel Arteta’s men continued their resurgence thanks to a 3-1 win in the North London Derby, their last of three league appearances in September.

And those efforts, in turn, saw the plug rewarded by fans at his new club earlier this week.

This came in the form of Arsenal’s Player of the Month award for September:

And, as described above, if the latest social media activity by Tomiyasu himself is something to go through, then evidently the recognition of the Gunners’ faithful hasn’t gone unnoticed at all.

Posting on his Instagram stories this weekend, the 22-year-old sent the following message of thanks, assuring that he intends to continue to ‘work hard’ for the weeks and months to come:

‘Thanks. For all of you who always support me! ‘

Still working hard.
