Takehiro Tomiyasu beats competition from another summer signing to claim Arsenal prize

Defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has been named Arsenal Player of the Month for September, the club has confirmed.

Japanese international Tomiyasu, of course, marked the final arrival at the end of a busy summer in the red half of North London.

In the midst of a long overdue effort to rejuvenate the Emirates team, Edu and company. oversaw a series of movements on both the incoming and outgoing front.

Just days after his arrival, the Japanese got off to a start in Arsenal’s Premier League encounter with Norwich City, impressing on the way to a clean sheet, followed by another a week later in a close showdown with Burnley.

‘Tomi’ shone once again as Mikel Arteta’s men continued their resurgence thanks to a 3-1 win at the North London Derby, their last of three league appearances in September.

And, as described above, on Thursday, the serious plug has been rewarded for its stellar first month in the Arsenal colors.

According to an official announcement on the club’s social media platforms, Tomiyasu has been named the Gunners Player of the Month for September.

The 22-year-old secured a hefty 51% of the vote, beating the competition from his summer partner Aaron Ramsdale in second place, and Emile Smith Rowe in third:
