Steve Bruce to be replaced as Newcastle United boss with former Chelsea favorite

Steve Bruce to be replaced as Newcastle United boss with former Chelsea favorite

Newcastle ready to be taken

Although it has yet to be confirmed as of this writing, a Saudi Arabian consortium is expected to take over Newcastle in the next few hours, according to reports.

This would mark the end of a 14-year tenure for chronically unpopular owner Mike Ashley, who has taken much of the life, soul and competitiveness out of the Tyneside club with his frugal spending and questionable marketing decisions.

However, one man who will be hit hard by the change in ownership is manager Steve Bruce. The Englishman is expected to be relieved of his duties, although when that happens is another matter, as the new owners are not looking to make hasty decisions.

Two former favorites of Chelsea bosses to take over

In place of Bruce, two former Chelsea coaches have thrown themselves to the forefront of the race to replace him in the Newcastle hot seat. According to Football.London, both Frank Lampard and Antonio Conte are among the favorites for the position should the club take-over is completed.

Would either of you be suitable for the job and would you accept that challenge?

It remains to be seen.
