Things have barely gone according to plan for Jadon Sancho after the English winger returned to England this summer.

The former Manchester City player completed his long-awaited departure from German giant Borussia Dortmund for £ 72 million in what was a summer window filled with great anticipation for the Manchester United faithful. The young Englishman joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphaël Varane in what was to be a preemptive warning shot through City’s arc ahead of Diablo Rojo’s assault on the Premier League.

But Sancho has not started racing at Old Trafford as Ronaldo has done as the first. Black and yellow The star has yet to open his account with Ole Gunnar Solskjær, nor has he recorded an assist.

Luke Shaw is not worried about his club and international colleague however, he insisted that Sancho has what it takes to rise to the top of the sport.

Shaw himself went through a period of uncertainty at United before becoming a key asset to the club, and given the talent that Sancho unquestionably possesses, it is only a matter of time before he returns home.

High expectations for a talented young man

Although Man United can already boast young attacking talents through Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and even Amad Diallo, the acquisition of Sancho was meant to take the club to another level and put pressure on equal terms with rivals Man City.

Sancho performed brilliantly during his time in the Ruhr Valley in Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and adding 64 assists in just 137 appearances in all competitions.

With a direct goal contribution of 0.83 / game, there was arguably no more important figure for the Westfalenstadion squad other than Erling Haaland.

But the adjustment period when exchanging leagues and clubs is always a trial period. Several reasons can influence why a talented player may not start to function, and it cannot be denied that United will not operate in the same way on a tactical level as Dortmund.

It’s not about league quality comparisons, but about player fit and utilization. If OGS modifies the system to bring out the best in its brightest offensive stars, United will surely seek the honors in the very near future. Hopefully, Jadon Sancho could be one of the reasons.
