Tino Livramento, from Southampton, questioned about Chelsea’s possible return

Tino Livramento, from Southampton, questioned about Chelsea's possible return

Livramento impresses with Southampton

Tino Livramento would go on to become one of countless Chelsea academy stars to leave the club without getting a first-team shot.

With Livramento at right back and fighting for a spot with fellow academy star Reece James and veteran Cezar Azpilicueta, it’s easy enough to see why the 18-year-old chose to leave for the summer.

Livramento would join Southampton for a report £ 5 million fee and, so far, it looks like it’s going to turn out to be a real robbery.

Livramento talks about Chelsea’s return

Despite having no Premier League experience to his name, Livramento was pushed straight into Southampton’s starting lineup by Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Livramento has started running at St Mary’s and while Southampton have yet to win a league game this season, drawing four and losing three, the defender has still shown some stellar displays.

As a result, Chelsea fans are likely not too happy that Livramento left the club, especially for such a small fee.

Now, in a recent interview, Livramento has opened up about leaving Chelsea:

“It was a difficult decision for everyone involved.

“They agreed that it was also the best for me and they have always taken care of me. I will never say a bad word about how they treated me growing up and made me the player I am today. It’s probably the best academy in the world that anyone would want to go to and develop.

“Everything fell into place and I only had a year left, so I felt like it was easy for me to leave at that point.”

In the same interview, the Englishman was questioned about the possibility of returning to Chelsea, to which he stated:

“Maybe one day, but I’m enjoying my football right now in Southampton.

“That’s where my head is right now. I’m just trying to score as many points as possible and improving individually. “

Chelsea has the option of a Livramento buyback clause as part of the sale to Southampton, which is believed to exist £ 40 million.
