Manchester United's Raphael Varane gives verdict on Premier League experience so far

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has delivered his verdict on his Premier League experience to date following his departure from Real Madrid over the summer.

Raphael Varane arrives at Manchester United from Real Madrid

Raphael Varane was one of Manchester United’s top three signings during the summer.

The Frenchman has signed a contract with the men’s team that will keep him at the club until 2025:

28-year-old Varane is believed to have pushed the Red Devils back a £ 34 million.

Varane’s season in the Premier League so far

Varane would be introduced as a Man United player ahead of the Red Devils’ first league game of the season, which saw them crush Leeds United 5-1.

The Frenchman was then an unused substitute for United in their next league clash against Southampton.

Since then, however, Varane has become a key element in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s bottom line.

Varane has appeared in both of United’s Champions League qualifiers this season and, since being benched against Southampton, has completed every minute of Premier League action for the Manchester side.

In those games, Man United won three, drew one, lost one and kept only one clean sheet, which was against Wolves in Varane’s first PL match.

And now, the central defender has offered his verdict on his experience in the Premier League so far, stating that he is enjoying getting out of his comfort zone and that it is a different way of defending, which he finds super interesting:

“I am enjoying playing, leaving my comfort zone, finding a new direction with my teammates.

“It’s a different way of defending and it’s very interesting for me.”
