Do you trust the process? Fabio Paratici describes Tottenham’s ambitions

Do you trust the process? Fabio Paratici describes Tottenham's ambitions

Tottenham’s rocky start

Tottenham’s start to the season has been something of a mixed bag. Three wins out of three were followed by three defeats in a row, conceding nine goals in the process, and following a pathetic performance in the North London derby in which Arsenal were 3-1 winless, the prospect that Nuno Espirito Santo lost his job seemed a completely real one.

In the week since, victories at the expense of the Slovenian minnows NS Mura and Aston Villa’s tougher task have prolonged their sojourn in North London until at least the international hiatus and, despite doom and sadness, they continue two points ahead of Arsenal.

With matches against Newcastle, West Ham and Burnley after the international break, Tottenham will hope to get in shape to secure Nuno’s future at least for the season.

Paratici analyzes Tottenham’s plan

Speaking to Tottenham TV, new Football Director Fabio Paratici asked the restless Lilywhite faithful for patience, highlighting the longevity of the “project” and how it would take time to return to the top of European football.

The Italian outlined:

“Our project is a long-term project, we know what we have to do”

“We are just at the beginning of our project. A month ago we talked about a reconstruction. Not build, but rebuild equipment, and we start at the last transfer window.

We are happy for Romero, we are happy for all the signings, Emerson, Bryan Gil… Gollini was also good ”.

“We need time. We are very happy for [Japhet] Thong, Skippy [Oliver Skipp], also Dane [Scarlett]. They love the club, you feel like they are something special about the club “

“We have a small image, which is important because it is this season. Not two months, but six, seven, eight months because we have to achieve our result, be the best that we can, work hard to win all the matches that we can win.

“But in the big picture, which is the most important thing, this club has to be like a family.”

“You have to believe and be positive, because this feeling is transmitted to everyone, first of all to the players”

He ended his call by reiterating the call for patience and his goals to build something lasting:

“I want to build something, that’s our goal.”

“We have the best infrastructure in the world, we have incredible fans. We have everything to build something really great “

Will it work on the white side of North London, or will they find themselves increasingly behind the Premier League giants in the years to come?
