Klopp’s brilliant success

Such are Jurgen Klopp’s accomplishments since taking office at Liverpool in October 2015 that he will largely decide when his time in Merseyside will end, having brought a first Premier League and a sixth Champions League to the red half of the city.

Their form has continued as well, with the Reds inclined to compete for the top spots again in all competitions after a poor season last time.

However, if Klopp were to leave, Jamie Carragher has suggested that a man should replace him.

Carra recommends Rodgers

Speaking about the possibility of the German’s departure, former Liverpool star and now Sky Sports expert Jamie Carragher was quick to make his views known and praised former boss Brendan Rodgers, currently in Leicester City.

The defender said:

“I am a huge fan of Brendan Rodgers and I think he is a brilliant coach. I worked with him for 12 months in Liverpool and I think this job came too early for him. If Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool tomorrow, Brendan Rodgers would be at the top of the list.

However, he was quick to acknowledge that Rodgers’ appointment seems unlikely, saying:

“That will not happen because he has been here [Liverpool] before, but did a brilliant job in Leicester. It’s a bump in the road and I’m almost sorry for Leicester because they have fallen in in the end and it almost looks negative.

“They are a really good team, a great club in the way they recruit, but they are still outperforming what they have been doing in the mix of those top four under Brendan Rodgers year after year.”

If Klopp is leaving in the future, who should Liverpool go to?
