Dusan Vlahovic makes his intentions for the future clear as Tottenham and two other Premier League clubs surround

Tottenham and Atlético de Madrid chase Vlahovic

Tottenham and Atlético de Madrid went head-to-head over the services of 21-year-old Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic last summer, only for him to reject both clubs and remain in Serie A.

The Spurs were looking for someone to play alongside Harry Kane, but they couldn’t get a new hit man and are suffering as a result. They may have gotten a big boost now, though, if the Lilywhites are still interested in getting Vlahovic next summer.

Vlahovic is currently under contract with Fiorentina until 2023, and has started the 2021-22 season in the same brilliant form in which he ended 2020-21.

In eight games so far, the Serbian forward has scored six goals, proving why he was so hot in the summer.

Vlahovic puts Premier League clubs on Red Alert

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso had previously revealed that contract talks to tie the Serbian hit man to a new deal had stalled, despite La Viola offering him an impressively high salary.

And, today, the news broke that all those in purple were terrified. Commisso revealed that talks have collapsed over a new contract, leaving Fiorentina in the lurch by failing to cash in on its main asset last summer.

Commisso said:

“Vlahovic has not accepted our huge contract extension proposal. We have been trying for months, but it’s over ”.

This means that it will probably be available at a reduced price (well below the 70-80 million pounds asked last summer), and it will surely have put Premier League clubs on red alert. Tottenham still need a forward, while Manchester City will need alternatives as they failed to sign Harry Kane last summer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly also on the lookout for a new leader, although it is questionable what they could offer over the other two clubs, which are at least in Europe. If Antoine Greizmann doesn’t make his return to Atlético de Madrid permanent, Atlético could also renew their interest, while, as always, Juventus will surely be sniffing out more top-notch Serie A real estate.

Where will Vlahovic end up?
