Ben Chilwell opens before the lack of minutes in Chelsea with Thomas Tuchel

Chilwell opens up about Chelsea team status

Chelsea English international fullback Ben Chilwell has recently opened the lid on his current status in the Blues squad under boss Thomas Tuchel.

The former Leicester City standout made his first Premier League start this season at the weekend in Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Southampton at Stamford Bridge, scoring his team’s third goal in the 89th minute.

It was only their second start in all competitions this season, and the other was in the clubs’ 5-4 win on penalties against Aston Villa in the third round of the Carabao Cup two weeks ago.

Chilwell has been firmly viewed as Marcos Alonso’s second fiddle on the left back, with Spanish being the preferred choice in all European leagues and outings of the campaign. These include key domestic matches against rivals Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Chilwell spoke honestly about his current situation;

“I wouldn’t say it has been frustrating. It’s about being patient, training hard. frames [Alonso] He has been playing well and I have had to respect that. I’ve been training hard to make sure that when I get the chance, I’m ready.

I felt good on Saturday fitness-wise. I’ve been training hard and making sure my fitness is 100 percent, so when I got a chance to play I was fine to play 90, and I made sure I was able to do the same runs in the 90th minute as in the 90th minute. first minute. ” note: quotes via Soccer, London.

England’s status is not in jeopardy despite lack of faith at club level

Ben Chilwell may have only appeared once in the Premier League this season, but he doesn’t have to convince England coach Gareth Southgate of his value to the national team.

Chelsea’s fullback was included in England’s last squad as the Three Lions are set to play for Andorra and Hungary on October 9-12.

Although he is not expected to run ahead of Manchester United’s Luke Shaw, Chilwell can still be sure that there are many who still value his skills on the field.
