What Pep Guardiola and James Milner discussed in the tunnel after Liverpool 2-Man City 2

James Milner escapes a red card

Manchester City and Liverpool played a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday night.

The tie was a highly entertaining event with some high-quality goals from players like Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne.

In the end, however, it was not the goals or perhaps even the result that would be the main topic of post-match conversation.

Instead, that would come late in the game when James Milner, who already had a yellow card, dropped Bernardo Silva for what appeared to be an obvious yellow card infraction, which of course would have seen the Englishman sent off.

What Milner and Guardiola discussed in the tunnel

Pep Guardiola was understandably furious that Milner did not receive a second yellow card and let his thoughts on the referee be known after the match.

Guardiola would also be photographed talking to Milner after the match:

And now, the Spanish has revealed what the couple discussed during their conversation in the tunnel:

“[We were talking about] our swing, he’s a better golfer than me and he gave me some tips on golf.

“He’s a good boy, we couldn’t be together in Manchester, but I know from the back room staff that he’s a good boy. We talked a bit about the game and the yellow card. I was joking. “
