Man City at the top, Barça beat Madrid giants

Europe's most valuable teams revealed: Manchester United rise to first place, Barcelona surpass Madrid giants

The value of the squads boasted by the best clubs in European football will be revealed on Monday.

Man City tops the list

The issue of which continental giant is in possession of the most valuable player panel on the planet, of course, is a hot topic among rival fan bases on a regular basis.

Meanwhile, with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku on the move last summer, it has come as no surprise to see the debate reach near-highs in recent months.

The Premier League’s growing financial dominance means that English soccer’s heavyweights are always likely to triumph in the latest finds and, on Monday, this is precisely what has happened.

The information is courtesy of the highly trusted CIES Football Observatory, which, using a unique algorithm, has calculated the exact value of the player staff at each club in the top 5 leagues in Europe.

Unsurprisingly, Premier League champions Manchester City top the list.

Meanwhile, close behind are United’s neighbors, with Champions League champion Chelsea completing the podium.

Next comes a surprise entrant, with struggling Barcelona defeating La Liga rivals Real and Atlético de Madrid in seventh and tenth place respectively.

Germany’s first representative is at 5 in the form of Bayern Munich, with Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain (surprisingly low in eighth place) and Borussia Dortmund also in the top 10.

Among the other noteworthy names is Juventus at no. On the 11th, North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal for 13th and 14th places, and Inter beat San Siro’s neighbors AC Milan for 17th place.
