Arsenal’s Gabriel returns to the Amex field after the game after losing a tooth

Video: Arsenal's Gabriel returns to Amex's field after the game after losing a tooth (again) against Brighton

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes was forced to return to the pitch following the conclusion of the club’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion tonight, having lost a tooth in a late collision.

Shared loot

Mikel Arteta’s men made the trip to the south coast recently, for their last Premier League clash.

The Gunners headed to proceedings in high spirits at club camp, after reciting a quartet of successive victories in all competitions, including three in a row in the league.

And, when all was said and done on Saturday, while Arsenal saw the end of their winning streak, they finally extended their unbeaten streak to five games.

A hard-fought affair, during which the visitors were largely trapped by an impressive Brighton side, eventually ended in a 0-0 draw.

Last Gabriel

It’s safe to say that, throughout tonight’s 90 minutes, Aaron Ramsdale’s five Arsenal defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and Kieran Tierney had a lot of work ahead of them.

Brighton, under the increasingly impressive Graham Potter, was downright relentless at the Amex, pushing hard for what few would have argued would have scored a deserved winner.

Mikel Arteta’s charges, however, to his credit, continued to stand tall in the face of adversity.

And, as described above, the aftermath of an evening of punishment has since taken its toll on one particular member of the Gunners’ rear.

The player in question? Gabriel.

At the end of the action on the south coast, the Brazilian stopper Gabriel, for the second season in a row, saw his tooth broken during a meeting with Brighton.

In turn, as shown below, the 23-year-old had no choice but to return to the pitch after the game, amid torrential rain, to search for the missing member of his smile:
