Andros Townsend explains why he copied Cristiano Ronaldo’s Siu celebration

Everton cling to a point at Old Trafford

Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjear continued to fight as they lost even more points at home, this time drawing 1-1 to a weakened Everton.

Anthony Martial, who got off to a rare start for the Red Devils, gave his team the lead in the dying embers of a first half that offered little for both sides.

However, a break from a Manchester United corner kick in the second half saw Abdoulaye Doucoure feed Andros Townsend, who scored a well-deserved draw for the Toffees.

To compound the misery of the spectators of a red persuasion, the Englishman then brought out the classic celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo “Siu” in front of the faithful travelers of Everton.

Rafa Benítez’s team could also have taken all three points, with a late goal from Yerey Mina disallowed for offside.

Townsend explains why she copied Ronaldo’s celebration

“You know what? Don’t disguise that my idol spent hours in training ground trying to execute his techniques, maybe he should have spent a little more time celebrating because it wasn’t a great execution.”

“But it was a bit of respect for Cristiano and an honor to be on the field with him”
