Jurgen Klopp analyzes his right-back options for Liverpool's clash with Man City

Liverpool vs Man City

Liverpool look to continue their strong start to the 2021/22 season on Sunday.

The Reds’ latest outing saw them crush FC Porto, who had previously been undefeated in 18 games, 5-1 in a Champions League tie.

Prior to that, Liverpool drew 3-3 at Brentford last weekend, but they are also the only Premier League team to have yet to lose a single game this campaign.

Of course, that could very easily change this weekend when they host Manchester City at the start of Sunday’s Premier League.

Man City lost to PSG earlier this week and was beaten by Tottenham in the opening weekend. However, his win over Chelsea recently featured Pep Guardiola and company. they remain a force to be reckoned with.

Klopp on Liverpool right-back options for Manchester City

Before City’s game, Jurgen Klopp spoke to the press on Friday and discussed a number of issues.

Among those were his options as a right-back for Manchester City, and the German named three players, none of whom is Trent Alexander-Arnold, as players that could include:

“We have James, we have Joe, we have Neco. We could change the system. There are many possible things. Whoever plays there must be protected by at least two players ”.

Klopp also described what Liverpool must do to beat Manchester City:

“We have to be brave, forward, cheeky at times, really your best version and then and only then do you have a chance. So that’s what we try. What we did last week or the other day was good, but we need a complex soccer challenge. Thank goodness for both teams! It is exciting.”
