'Double standards': why some Man United fans are unhappy after Kevin de Bruyne's decision against PSG

Man City Trail PSG

Manchester City are currently locked in a Champions League clash with French PSG.

City headed into the game with no doubt full of confidence after taking a huge 1-0 win over title rivals Chelsea last weekend.

PSG, however, has a superb team and would start the game in the Parc des Princes with three forwards from Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi.

And, with 45 minutes to go, it is the hosts who lead. Manchester City have certainly been involved in the tie, but have not taken advantage of their opportunities, one of which saw Bernardo Silva miss an open goal from around two yards.

PSG, on the other hand, took just eight minutes to open the scoring, with Idrissa Gueye putting an effort into the top corner of City’s net:

In addition to having one goal less, some fans also argue that Man City perhaps should be one less man.

This is due to a rather dangerous tackle by Kevin De Bruyne towards the end of the first 45, which saw him receive only a yellow card:

After the Belgian only received one yellow, Man United fans have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure at this due to their player, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, being sent off for a similar challenge against Young Boys in the Champions League. earlier this month:
