Tottenham is already considering replacing Nuno

Tottenham are already considering replacing Nuno / Why some players are 'not impressed' with the Portuguese

An update on Nuno Espirito Santo’s situation at Tottenham was announced Tuesday night and it doesn’t sound too good for Spurs.

Nuno’s season at Tottenham

Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed Tottenham coach during the summer, replacing now-AS Roma manager José Mourinho.

The former Wolves boss got off to a perfect start to life in North London, earning a first weekend win over Premier League champions Manchester City.

This was followed by 1-0 victories over Wolves and Watford, results that left the Lilywhites atop the Premier League before the international break in September.

However, Spurs’ results since then have been pretty lousy, especially in the league.

Tottenham have lost their last three Premier League games to Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal, conceding three goals in each game.

Writing on the wall for Nuno?

Now, after the defeat of the North London Derby, the future of Tottenham de Nuno is being questioned.

According to Duncan Castles of The Transfer Window Podcast, Spurs were ready to appoint Paulo Fonseca as manager, but that deal was not followed through on the advice of Tottenham’s new Director of Soccer, Fabio Paratici.

And in the end, Tottenham would appoint Nuno, who was offered earlier in the search for a new manager, but the Londoners passed.

Now, however, on the back of his lousy PL form, Castles reports that some Tottenham players are not impressed with Nuno’s attitude, personality, or the type of football they are being asked to play:

Some of the players have not been impressed with Nuno as an individual. Not particularly impressed by her attitude or personality, that’s described as dowry. Some complain about the type of football they are being asked to play and also some criticism within the club that they do not understand the type of football that is expected from Tottenham.

I also heard that he is not doing enough work to promote the club, for example, and to engage with the club’s media, so there has been discontent there.

Castles adds that Tottenham are already considering replacements for the Portuguese:

The information I have is that Tottenham is already considering replacements for Nuno and also that this is not necessarily a one-sided process in the sense that Nuno, I have been told, is not happy with his circumstances at Tottenham. It is not what I expected when he entered the club, so there is discontent on both sides.
