The last injury of the Manchester United duo before the clash against Villareal

Luke Shaw vs. Swansea

Maguire and Shaw limp out of Villa’s crash

It was a disaster from a match between Manchester United and Aston Villa. Not only did the Villians take all three points thanks to a header from Kortney Hause, but Bruno Fernandes missed a last-minute penalty.

To add further insult to injury, both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw limped out of the clash with injuries as the Red Devils fell in back-to-back losses for the first time this season.

The ultimate duo from England

Speaking to the media before the Red Devil’s clash with Villareal, who defeated them in the final of the Europa League last season, Solskjaer was asked about the state of form of the England pair and, in the Maguire’s case was not positive.

The United manager revealed that their captain was absent for “a few weeks” as a result of the calf injury he suffered against Aston Villa.

However, he was more positive about Luke Shaw’s condition, saying his left back “has a chance” of being involved against the Spanish team.

It’s a game that Manchester United must get a result from, after two under-par results on the rebound.

It is something that the head of the Red Devils evidently recognized, who said:

“If you have one or zero points in two games, you need four wins. It is a very important game ”.

However, without Maguire, Varane is sufficiently acclimatized to command United’s defense, and will he and Victor Lindelof be able to form an effective partnership to combat the absence of their captain?
