Lloris makes Ndombele’s prediction and describes what the Tottenham midfielder needs

Hugo Lloris makes Tanguy Ndombele's prediction and describes what the Tottenham midfielder needs

Ndombele asks to leave Tottenham

Tottenham signed Ndombele from Lyon in 2019 for a club-record 60 million euros.

Ndombele would not start running at Spurs, with the midfielder apparently struggling to adapt to the aggressive nature of the Premier League and its physical demands.

But when José Mourinho left the club and was replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo, some Tottenham fans were no doubt hoping that we would finally see the best of Ndombele in the Spurs jersey.

However, before that could happen, it was reported that Ndombele wanted to leave the Spurs for the summer:

Since then, Ndombele has re-integrated into the Spurs setup.

The midfielder has started Spurs’ last two league games, his League Cup win over Wolves and his Europa Conference League draw with Stade Rennais.

However, the truth is that Ndombele has not yet managed to show his best form.

And while some Spurs fans may have given up that his club record signing was ever a good one, Hugo Lloris certainly hasn’t, and the Frenchman recently predicted he’s confident Ndombele will perform.

The Tottenham closer also stressed that Ndombele needs games and ‘feel responsibility’:

“Tanguy needs games, games, games, repetition of games.

“[He needs to] Try to feel this responsibility because you are no longer a young player. And a player with his talent and quality must feel responsibility within the dressing room and the team.

“Honestly, I think he’s ready, his mind is ready. He is here with a smile, he is connected to the team and that is the most important thing. Obviously, it’s up to the coach to play with him or not, but I can feel his energy has returned. And it will surely act. I have no doubt about it.

“With Tanguy, the first season, because of the language, it was sometimes frustrating for him not being able to talk to others. Today is totally open and you can talk, joke and share moments. That is very important as a player, to feel connected to the team ”.
