Aurier offers puzzled response to club’s loss to Arsenal

Aurier, former Tottenham star, responds with bewilderment to the club's loss to Arsenal

Former Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has taken to social media to reveal his completely puzzled response to the club’s performance against Arsenal.

Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham

Nuno Espirito Santo, of course, led the Spurs to their final meeting in the North London Derby on Sunday, the first of the Portuguese season in the English capital.

The Lilywhites went into the process nothing less than desperate for a positive result, after seeing their positive opening to the campaign collapse in successive 3-0 losses at the hands of Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

However, after the final whistle that sounded at the Emirates, it was more of the same from a stuttering Tottenham team.

Goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka saw Arsenal take a 3-0 lead in 35 minutes, with a strong finish from Heung-min Son, when all was said and done, having shown little more than a consolation.

The 24 hours after the capital derby clash, in turn, have seen Spurs inevitably come under widespread criticism, from fans, neutrals, players and experts alike.

Several former Arsenal stars, for example, made the most of the opportunity to poke fun at their former rivals in North London:

And, as described above, those Gunners have been joined by a longtime advocate in the Lilywhite half of the equity division.

The player in question? Serge Aurier.

Taking to the stories section of his Instagram account, Ivorian international Aurier, who left Tottenham as a free agent last month, posted a simple one-word reaction, aptly summing up the sentiments of the club’s fanbase:

Tottenham forward Lucas seems to hit the tactics of Nuno Espirito Santo after the demolition of the derby

Replacement for Harry Kane? Tottenham interested in Aston Villa forward
