Footage of Arsenal’s Under-23s scoring goals in their decisive encounter with Manchester City this past weekend have started to draw attention online.

Tottenham hit

Of course, events in the red half of North London have been central to the headlines for the past 24 hours.

This comes with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners who did a short job on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, in the latest edition of the North London Derby.

Goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka in the opening 35th minute proved to be enough for Arsenal to earn three deserved points and a place in the top half of the Premier League table for the first time this season.

However, as described above, Arteta’s first team panel was far from the only one of Arsenal’s teams to have an impressive display last weekend …

The other? Under-23 of the club.

Following an impressive season opener, the Gunners’ latest crop of emerging talent made the journey to Manchester City Academy Stadium, aware that a victory would clearly guide them to the top of the Premier League 2 table.

And while, when all was said and done, Kevin Betsy’s men were forced to settle for a cut of the loot, they held their own against a talented City team.

After Oscar Bobb opened the game scoring for the hosts with 40 minutes to go, Arsenal quickly leveled up, courtesy of the afternoon’s highlight.

Taking the ball 25 yards from goal, 18-year-old Salah Oulad M’Hand, known simply as ‘Salah,’ drove inside, before unleashing an impressive right-hand shot in the far upper corner:

Then, straight from the start of the second half, the Gunners made it 2-1.

Joel LΓ³pez was the man who got it right this time, and he lunged forward from his left-back position to direct a precise effort into the post:

The host city finally managed to bring the scoring level to the bag a point shortly after, but, after Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka represented the club’s academy setup prominently in the derby, the next crop of talent The budding Hale End made it clear against City that they will soon put pressure on Mikel Arteta as well.
