Adrien Rabiot joins Juventus’ concerns ahead of Chelsea

Juventus' third star emerges as doubt for the clash against Chelsea

Italian giants Juventus’ personnel problems have continued to escalate, ahead of the club’s next showdown with Chelsea.

Sample Thriller

The bianconeri were back in action this past weekend.

Following a less than impressive start to the new campaign, Max Allegri’s men welcomed Sampdoria to the Allianz Stadium, aiming for back-to-back Serie A victories for the first time in 2021/22.

And, after all, that is precisely what Juve has achieved.

Amid another troubling display, the Old Lady finally found the three goals she needed to emerge on the right side of a 5-goal thriller.

Paulo Dybala, Leonardo Bonucci and summer addition Manuel Locatelli hit the mark to guide the Turin giants to the top half of the Serie A table.

Rabiot’s concern

However, Juventus’ last 3-point shot came at a cost, and a considerable one as well.

This comes with starting front pair Paulo Dybala and Álvaro Morata who were forced to limp out of the proceedings with their respective injury problems.

The first was particularly concerning, as Bianconeri’s number 10 had cried as he left the pitch:

And the post-match update on the situation didn’t turn out to be much more encouraging.

Speaking to the media, Juve boss Allegri confirmed that its two key attackers have been excluded from the long-awaited Champions League showdown with European champions Chelsea on Wednesday night.

However, the ills of the Turin giants have only continued to increase.

On Monday night, an update on the well-being of another of Old Lady’s key artists was posted online.

The player in question? Adrien Rabiot.

French midfielder Rabiot was forced to not participate in the action against Sampdoria, after sustaining an ankle injury in training during the week. However, the former PSG star was expected to return to contention in time for the final round of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday.

But, if the last word in the Italian media is something to go through, then such a development, as it stands, seems completely doubtful.

According to Calciomercato’s Nicola Balice, Rabiot was forced to train just one more time on Monday, with his availability to face Chelsea, as a result, on the air today.
