Tottenham faithful ask for Nuno’s head after Arsenal defeat

Tottenham faithful ask for Nuno's head after Arsenal defeat

Tottenham Hotspur supporters flooded social media on Sunday to call for the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo, just a few months after his stint at the club.

Nuno and company Of course, he returned to action a short time ago.

After seeing their positive opening to the campaign fail due to a pair of consecutive 3-0 losses at the hands of Crystal Palace and Chelsea, the Spurs made the trip to the Emirates, for the latest edition of the North London Derby.

To say that though, when the 90 minutes were said and done, the visitor woes only deepened, would be an understatement.

An explosive first-half display by Arsenal saw Mikel Arteta’s men rush to a 3-0 lead in 35 minutes, a spoil that ultimately proved decisive.

Emile Smith Rowe was the first to score, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the Gunners’ lead by completing a surprising team play shortly before the half-hour mark:

Then, just when it looked like things couldn’t get any worse for Tottenham, the ever-spirited Bukayo Saka tripled shortly thereafter, sending Emirates-assisting local supporters delirious.

The visitors, to their credit, managed to come back one through Heung-min Son with ten minutes to go, but, in the end, the South Korean’s goal was little more than consolation.

Arsenal, in turn, have remarkably climbed to five points from the Premier League summit.

Nuno out?

At the Spurs, on the other hand, the investigation will begin now.

A slew of Lilywhites stars just didn’t live up to the occasion tonight, with artists like Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg struggling to have some kind of significant impact on the proceedings.

In turn, it should come as no surprise to learn that the club’s fan base has since flooded Twitter to make their frustrations known.

However, it is not the players on display for the capital’s team on Sunday who have received the brunt of criticism.

Instead, the Spurs faithful have chosen to direct their ire towards coach Nuno Espritio Santo, and many have come to ask that the Portuguese, appointed less than three months ago, be replaced:
