Bukayo Saka equals Gareth Bale’s benchmark in Arsenal’s clash with Spurs

Bukayo Saka equals Gareth Bale's benchmark in Arsenal's clash with Tottenham

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka equaled an impressive benchmark today, having landed his last outing in the North London Derby.

Renewed rivalries

Of course, the latest NLD is currently being developed in the Emirates.

Following a timely upturn in form over the past two weeks, Arsenal are welcoming their long-time city rivals, aware that a win would notably guide them five points away from the Premier League summit.

Not only that, but the Gunners would also be tied on points with their opponents tonight, even though the Spurs had posted a trio of successive victories to open the season.

As things stand early in the action at the Emirates, the score remains steady at 0-0.

Saka matches Bale

One of those charged with breaking an increasingly shaky visitor baseline in the English capital tonight is, of course, Bukayo Saka.

England international Saka, despite his tender years, has long established himself as a crucial member of Mikel Arteta’s front line, culminating with an inevitable start on Sunday night.

And, as described above, in the process of taking to the field early on, the 20-year-old etched his name in the North London Derby recent history books.

As revealed by statisticians Opta, Saka has become the first player since Gareth Bale to start in up to three Premier League derby’s in the northern half of the capital before his 21st birthday.
