Ronaldo returns

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last month, of course, you know that Cristiano Ronald has rejoined Manchester United.

The Portuguese forward was at one point apparently destined for Manchester City, but a U-turn in the eleventh hour saw him arrive in Manchester to sign for the red half once more.

He has also made a huge impact, scoring 4 goals in three games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team, including three in the Premier League.

Could he be the man to fire Manchester United for their first silver medal in 5 years?

Sir Alex speaks

A man credited for helping Persuading Ronaldo to return is his former boss, and legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Now speaking to MUTV prior to the Red Devil’s clash with Aston Villa, Ferguson pointed to Ronaldo’s desire as the reason he has managed to reach the levels he has, saying:

“I think he [Ronaldo] he was born with desire, he sacrificed himself to be the best. “

One story in particular stuck in his mind:

“We were playing Arsenal on a Saturday and it was raining heavily in Carrington. I went to see him. [Ronaldo] and he said ‘It’s too wet, the ground is too soft’. I walked into the office and looked out the window. I was on the astro lawn [practicing]. “

The great Scotsman then praised Ronaldo’s second debut, likening him to something akin to a Roman emperor, saying:

“That was like [Julius] Caesar entering Rome after the victory. I came, look, I conquered. It was fantastic.”

With problems in Manchester since Fergie’s departure, can Ronaldo and Solskjear bring joy to the red half of the city?
