Sean Dyche confirms triple blow due to Burnley injury after Leicester

Sean Dyche confirms triple blow due to Burnley injury after Leicester

Burnley boss Sean Dyche confirmed no fewer than three new injury concerns on his team Saturday night.

Vardy in the double

The Clarets, of course, were back in action this afternoon.

Dyche and company. made the trip to King Power Stadium, desperate to add a single solo point to the club so far in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.

And, when all was said and done on Saturday, this is precisely what Burnley accomplished.

A sometimes chaotic 90 minutes eventually culminated in a 2-2 stalemate, in a result that did little for the hopes that neither side would advance.

Unsurprisingly, Jamie Vardy proved to be the star of the show, bouncing back after scoring an own goal to finally steal a point from Leicester with a double.

Concern for the Clarets

However, the most prominent strike of the day was scored by one of Burnley’s stars.

The player in question? Maxwel Cornet.

Cornet, who took to the court for the second time in the Clarets colors following a summer change from Olympique Lyonnais, drove home an impressive volley shortly before halftime, to provide local support on Turf Moor with an early look at his unquestionable talents.

In turn, it was certainly a major concern when, at halftime, the Ivory Coast international was forced to give way to Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson.

Speaking to the media after the King Power game, Sean Dyche was inevitably drawn to Cornet’s well-being.

And, confirming that the 24-year-old appears to have had a hamstring problem, Burnley’s boss revealed that Jay Rodriguez and Matej Vydra have also suffered from physical fitness issues:

Yesterday we lost J-Rod with a hamstring. Unfortunately, we lost Vyds by a injury. We have lost [Cornet] to one injury, [too]. It’s too early, but I think it’s his hamstring.
