Manchester United landed a blow when Luke Shaw limped in the first half of Villa’s clash

Manchester United in action

Interestingly, Manchester United are currently in action for a 12.30pm second game, hosting Aston Villa in a game running alongside the Chelsea vs Manchester City main lineup.

You can read about why this is happening here.

The Red Devils have named a strong team after their Carabao Cup defeat in the middle of the week, remembering David De Gea, Raphael Varane and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo to their starting eleven.

However, despite the strong team, Solskjaer’s team came into halftime without scoring, and Aston Villa had the best chance of the game and arguably deserved to be ahead.

Luke Shaw limps off due to injuries

However, one of the Red Devils’ main concerns will be the injury sustained by their first pick’s left back, Luke Shaw.

The Englishman has been in good shape since returning from the European Championships, making five appearances and posting one assist. However, within half an hour, the 26-year-old fell and had to be replaced by Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot.

With Alex Telles providing a stark reminder of why he was the second choice on Ole’s mind against West Ham, it remains to be seen how Manchester United can manage without their influential Englishman.

Can Manchester United get through their next matches without the knight knight?
