FC Barcelona has seen his appeal against the decision to expel Frenkie de Jong against Cádiz rejected by La Liga.
Ronald Koeman’s men were back in action Thursday night.
The Blaugrana, fresh from a totally unpredictable opening of the new campaign, made the trip to the minnows of Cádiz, desperate for a much-needed three-point loot.
When all was said and done at the Nuevo Mirandilla Stadium, however, again, Barça fell short.
A thoroughly disappointing display, during which the Catalan giants were limited to a handful of half chances by their stubborn hosts, eventually saw both sides forced to settle for a share of the loot.

De Jong ruled out
Barcelona’s woes, however, did not simply end with the disappointing end result in southwestern Spain.
The blaugrana also received a couple of totally worrying blows on the personal front.
First came the controversial dismissal of star midfielder Frenkie de Jong, on the back of a pair of yellow cards collected within five minutes at the start of the second half:

And then another red card was brandished after the full-time whistle Thursday night, this time to Ronald Koeman, who had made no secret of his disappointment with his compatriot’s expulsion half an hour earlier.
However, when night turned into day in Catalonia, at the Camp Nou a decision was made to launch resources against De Jong’s red and a late warning given to Sergio Busquets by referee Carlos del Cerdo Grande.

But, in a new blow in the middle of a totally worrisome season opener, La Liga has shot down Barça appeals.
In turn, De Jong will be forced out of the club’s meeting with Levante this weekend, while Koeman faces a spell in the stands for both Sunday’s clash and the subsequent trip to Wanda Metropolitano. to face Atlético de Madrid.
A ban match for Frenkie De Jong; he will miss Barcelona’s game against Levante on Sunday.
Koeman has been suspended for two games and will also miss FCB’s departure to the Metropolitano next week.
Is it possible that we will never see him again on the Barça bench? 😕#LLL
