Liverpool could lose the young Englishman for a reason

The key reason Liverpool could miss out on the Dortmund star next summer

Liverpool are still linked to the signing of Jude Bellingham

As arguably the most popular property in the realm of English football today, Jude Bellingham is almost guaranteed to eventually leave Borussia Dortmund at some point, but that time could be this summer as Liverpool continues to be linked to interest in the 18. -Full international year.

Bellingham has risen rapidly through the player hierarchy at the Westfalenstadion, first under Lucien Favre and then under interim boss Edin Terzić, and now continues to prosper with Marco Rose at the helm, having started each of Dortmund’s eight games in all competitions so far. His recent performance against Besiktas in the Champions League is a testament to how vital he has become.

With Liverpool reaching the point of need where team refreshment is the requirement, Bellingham certainly fits the bill given the circumstances surrounding veterans Jordan Henderson and James Milner.

Furthermore, many cannot claim that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has actually achieved the grade at Anfield, while the best of Naby Keita has rarely been on full display with any measure of consistency.

Jürgen Klopp may not yet be ready to break the peace

With a £ 80 million move for the midfielder valued at £ 47 million (via Transfermarkt), Jürgen Klopp can still avoid a complete attempt to lure Bellingham to Anfield given a specific aspect of his transfer history since joining Liverpool; it has yet to attack Dortmund at its best and brightest in the six years since its departure from the Ruhr Valley.

Jurgen Klopp

Links over the years with the likes of Mario Götze, Marco Reus, Christian Pulisic and Jadon Sancho have persisted, but Klopp never pulled the trigger to strip one of his key assets from his former position.

In fact, the motives change and the needs supersede any policy that is not signed in ink, but with such an understanding between Klopp and Dortmund (according to Bild), Liverpool may once again lose a talented footballer for the simple notion of respect. And it’s hard to say it’s not admirable.
