Graham Potter provides update on Yves Bissouma's injury ahead of Crystal Palace vs Brighton

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

Brighton and Crystal Palace go head-to-head on Monday in the first M23 derby of the campaign.

Brighton is heading into the clash having enjoyed a good start to the season, with their only loss so far against Everton.

The Seagulls have won all four of their remaining league games this season and, after beating Leicester 2-1 at the weekend, they now sit 4th in the Premier League table, just one point from first place.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, has had an uneven start to the season. They took a huge 3-0 win over Tottenham earlier this month, but were also crushed by Chelsea and Liverpool.

Bissouma update

Before the game, Brighton boss Graham Potter has provided an update on Yves Bissouma’s injury.

The star midfielder appeared to be injured against Leicester at the weekend and was seen with an ice pack on his knee after the match:

And when he spoke about Bissouma on Tuesday, Potter expressed his hope that he could train at the end of this week and hopefully be able to perform against Palace:

“We hope that he can train at the end of this week and we are hopeful that he can play against Palace.”

Tariq Lamptey is also scheduled to be on Brighton’s team of the day on Wednesday in the League Cup, and Potter has this to say about the defender:

“It will be great for everyone to see him back.”
