Liverpool assistant coach describes his most talented academy perspective

Mo Salah

Mohamed Salah’s star continues to shine

Mohamed Salah has continued to etch his name in the history books of the Premier League since moving from Roma to Liverpool.

Bringing out his century of scoring with Liverpool in just 162 games, he has become an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s success over the past four years.

However, now 29, he will have to step aside sometime in the next five years, and Liverpool will desperately need to replace the prolific winger to ensure continued success.

But could they already have the answer?

Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders reveals most impressive youth perspective

Take a step forward, Kaide Gordon.

Still just 16 years old, Gordon still has plenty of time to grow up in the Egyptian’s skin, but Jurgen Klopp’s assistant Pep Lijnders spoke today about how impressed he was with the talent, saying:

“They start with the under-23 training and I went to the under-23 training camp to watch and I see a player and he has fire every moment he touches the ball.

“He passes the players like they’re not there, so I call Jurgen like, ‘Wow, we have a new player here.’

He went on to reveal his key skills:

“He has a goal in him and he has that natural ability to be in the area between the goal posts to score, even when the center comes from the other side, and not many talents have that.

“They may have dribbling skills, but they don’t have this desire to shoot and go into the area to score.”

Could the youngster become an in-house replacement for the Liverpool legend when it comes time to hang up his boots?
