Tottenham brought down by Chelsea

Tottenham and Chelsea met on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues were looking to continue their undefeated start to the season, while the Spurs were looking to bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace last time out.

However, despite a rather positive opening 45 from the Spurs, it would be Chelsea who came out as the clear winner on Sunday.

A tactical change from Thomas Tuchel at halftime completely changed the game, with the Blues hitting the Lilywhites for three in the 45th second.

About Kane’s stat

In addition to losing for the second week in a row, one of the main concerns for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team after Chelsea’s defeat was the performance of Harry Kane.

Kane barely touched the ball in front of those of Tuchel, with César Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Marcos Alonso all with more touches in the rival area than Harry Kane (2) during the match.

Of course Chelsea are a quality team and even the best players have a day off from time to time.

However, what will be most concerning for Spurs is that according to Opta, Kane has failed to score in his first four Premier League appearances of a season for the first time since 2015/16, with the forward attempting just four shots in this current campaign.

Kane, of course, would see a possible move to Manchester City over the summer not materialize.

And, since returning to the starting lineup this season, Kane has seemed a shadow of himself. Has the failed movement of the city played a role in this?

Kane’s poor performance against Chelsea also saw him receive criticism from Sky Sports insider Roy Keane after the game:

“Harry Kane’s body language in that field, oh my word. I’m really mad at the Spurs. “
