“I would like to see Liverpool add a pair.” Stan Collymore has his opinion on the side of Jurgen Klopp

Ibrahima Konate

Calm Liverpool Summer

It was a quiet transfer window on Liverpool’s red side when it came to tickets. Only Ibrahima Konate joined the club, a deal that was closed before the window was opened.

His focus was apparently more on sales, with Xherdan Shaquiri, Marco Grujic, and several youth players leaving the club and bringing much-needed funding to the club, while Virgil Van Dijk, Allison and Fabinho were all tied to new contracts.

However, an injury to Harvey Elliot against Leeds United, and the imminent departure of Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane to the Africa Cup of Nations in January, has left the Reds looking somewhat shabby in attack, especially with Roberto Firmino still out of.

This, plus the failure to replace Wijnaldum this summer (even though they signed Thiago last summer) has left fans and viewers questioning whether they should have spent more this summer.

Collymore has his opinion

It is clear that former striker Stan Collymore also falls in this field. The former Liverpool striker (who scored 28 goals in 64 games for the club) is eager to see more corpses in Merseyside in the coming months.

Talking to the Empire of the Kop fan site, Collymore said:

“For me, I am very comfortable with what Liverpool have and I would like Liverpool to add a couple, be it a couple of really good loans or if there is someone available in the January transfer window,” he added.

“Particularly after Covid, there are clubs in financial distress (France, Germany, Italy, Spain or Portugal) that you may be able to take out [players] six or seven months before their clubs. “

Do you agree with the former Liverpool player?
