Fans send a message to Chelsea after Rudiger’s latest impressive performance

Fans send a message to Chelsea after Antonio Rudiger's latest impressive performance against Tottenham

Tottenham vs Chelsea

In Sunday’s final Premier League outing, two London rivals clashed.

Tottenham would host Chelsea as they looked to bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend.

The Spurs were also able to welcome key men like Heung-min Son and Cristian Romero on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea were looking to continue their undefeated start to the season with Thomas Tuchel, but would have to do so without the services of number one closer, Edouard Mendy.

The first 45 came to an end with the score still tied at 0-0. The first 45 was quite a hectic affair that saw a lot of end-to-end action and the Spurs wore much more offensive strength than they did last weekend against Palace.

However, neither team was able to create a clear opportunity in the first half.

Thomas Tuchel responded to his team struggling to create opportunities by bringing N’Golo Kante to Mason Mount and trading to a 3-5-2.

This allowed Chelsea to carve a niche in the midfield, where it had previously been overrun in the first 45.

And the change from German was rewarded almost instantly. The Blues dominated the first five minutes of the second half and found the net through a header from Thiago Silva in the 50th minute.

Marcos Alonso should have made it 2-0 just three minutes later when he found himself free in the Spurs area. However, Eric Dier cleared the Spaniard’s effort from the line.

It didn’t take long for the visitors to add a second, however, with a deflected effort from Kante from distance that sent Hugo Lloris down the wrong path.

The Pensioners then went on to control the remainder of the tie and added a third in injury time through Antonio Rudiger.

Fans send Chelsea message about Rudiger

While Thiago Silva and Kante stole the headlines on Sunday, we once again saw another excellent display from Antonio Rudiger. It was a stone in the back and, of course, he added the final goal of the tie.

The German has arguably been Chelsea’s best defender during Thomas Tuchel’s time at the club. However, his future at Bridge remains up in the air as his contract expires at the end of this season.

As a result, after watching Rudiger impress against Spurs, Chelsea fans took to social media to urge their club to sign the German to a new deal:
