Newcastle fans question ‘who runs the team’ after Bruce / Jones interaction

Newcastle fans question 'who's running the team' as Bruce & Jones interaction scored against Leeds

Newcastle United faithful have flooded social media tonight to highlight new concerns about the situation on the club’s bench.

ASM cancels Raphinha

Of course, Steve Bruce’s men are currently in action.

In the first Premier League game of the weekend, the Magpies welcomed Leeds United at St. James’ Park, aiming for the three much-needed points.

Before tonight, Newcastle, like their opponents, had put up just two points on the scoreboard, due to a pair of draws and a pair of losses in the club’s first four outings of the campaign.

And, as things stand on Tyneside, both sides seem to be forced to settle for another point each.

It was Leeds who came off the blocks much stronger, culminating in the visitors’ opening on the scoreboard for the night when Raphinha’s shot from the right made its way down the back post:

However, Marcelo Bielsa’s men soon took their foot off the pedal, allowing Newcastle a route back to proceedings.

And this was one that Magpies star Allan Saint-Maximin went on to grasp with both hands, pulling the local level in the interval stroke courtesy of a piece of individual brilliance:

‘What is the manager?’

However, as described above, it is not the scoring action at St. James thus far that has in fact drawn widespread attention from Newcastle’s fan base.

This, instead, has come in the form of events on the touchline, and a particularly notable moment at the end of the first half.

The incident in question saw defender Matt Ritchie, in the middle of a play interruption, walk off the field to discuss matters with Steve Bruce.

However, as viewed by a large number of Newcastle supporters, instead it appeared to be assistant manager Graeme Jones who took firm control of the situation, essentially ignoring Bruce to instruct Ritchie on the action plan for the hosts. :
