Leicester in the hands of Napoli

Leicester kicked off their Europa League campaign on Thursday night, hosting Serie A’s Napoli.

The Foxes have been drawn into Group C along with Legia Warsaw, Spartak Moscow and the aforementioned Napoli, and the Italians seem poised to be the toughest test for Brendan Rodgers and company. over the next few months.

And, when all was said and done at King Power on Thursday, this appears to be the case.

Leicester enjoyed the best of the game for the first hour or so and it would prove a real handful for the Naples-based team at the counter.

This would lead Ayoze Perez and Harvey Barnes to shoot the hosts to a two-goal lead after 64 minutes.

However, Napoli fought back and a late double from Victor Osimhen sent his team back home with a share of the loot:

Will Evans miss Brighton?

As well as losing a two-goal lead, Leicester also appears to have encountered a personnel problem on Thursday.

As reported by the BBC, Rodgers said Jonny Evans is a fitness question for this weekend’s game in Brighton on Sunday.

“He felt like he was struggling to push so we’ll have to see that in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
