Spurs fans advocate for Ndombele’s start against Chelsea after Rennes display

Spurs fans send Ndombele message to Nuno before Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to social media tonight to plead with Nuno Espirito Santo for his use of Tanguy Ndombele.

Højbjerg secures a point

Nuno and company were back in action a short time ago.

The Lilywhites traveled to northwestern France, for their first outing in the Europa Conference League, against Stade Rennais.

The Spurs headed into the proceedings looking for something of a make-up performance, having been subjected to the sword in a completely troubling way at Crystal Palace last time.

However, when all was said and done at Roazhon Park, the visitors were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, following a 2-2 draw.

A thoroughly entertaining event saw the visitors open the scoring in a quarter of an hour, as the unfortunate Loic Bade led Lucas Moura’s throwback attempt through the goal.

Rennes, however, soon made his way back to the proceedings, before leveling things up deservedly courtesy of Flavien Tate:

The crash took a turn twenty minutes from time, when Gaetan Laborde put the Ligue 1 team in front, only for Tottenham to draw minutes later through substitute Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

And that’s how things ended that night, when the Spurs’ Conference League adventure got off to a solid if unspectacular start.

Ndombele’s plea

Following their first stalemate of the campaign, Tottenham’s attention will now quickly turn to a much more daunting task this weekend.

The team from the capital is set to return to national action in a Premier League derby with Chelsea on Sunday night, with Nuno and company. No doubt desperate to surprise the European champions thanks to a return to victory.

And, as described above, before the Blues clash, the Lilywhites faithful have taken to social media tonight in their numbers to give the club boss some advice.

The pointer in question comes in the form of a not-so-subtle plea for Tanguy Ndombele to receive his first league start of the campaign in three days.

Ndombele, an outcast during the first weeks of the season, has been back in the draw lately, culminating in his early appearance against Rennes.

And those of the Spurs persuasion, evidently, were completely blown away by the enigmatic talent of the club’s midfield:
