Mikel Arteta hints at the return of Jack Wilshere before the clash with Burnley

Wilshere no club

Once, Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has had a difficult career, with his undoubted talent hampered by the regularity of his injury problems, which he was dubbed “Jack in a wheelchair” by many.

In a revealing interview with The Athletic, the former Arsenal and England player revealed that he felt the door had closed on him in England due to his reputation for injury, but had been training with Como Italian in preseason.

Wilshere made 198 appearances for the Gunners during his first period, but amid Mohammed Elneny’s injury and the loss of both the Egyptian and Thomas Partey at the African Cup of Nations in January, could he be ready to return?

Arteta reveals everything

Mikel Arteta was questioned once again about the possibility of Jack Wilshere returning to train with the Gunners before his side’s trip to Burnley on Saturday.

The Spaniard had previously revealed that the door was open, something Jack Wilshere certainly appreciated hearing.

The Englishman said:

“I really enjoyed playing with him, sharing a dressing room with him. Hearing him come out and say that the door is always open is nice. I’m sure I’ll have a conversation with someone from the club in the next few days. ”

Now speaking before the trip to Turf Moor, Arteta revealed that talks have been having about that possibility. saying:

“We are in talks with Jack to also understand what he needs and what he is looking for. He is a person and a player who has great admiration from everyone. We are ready to help you as much as we can. He knows”

However, he did not confirm that the midfielder would be part of the Arsenal team again. When asked about the possibility of a pay-per-play contract, the Spaniard replied:

“I wouldn’t take it that far”

While this sounds like the end of the line for Wilshere’s romantic comeback, the wry smile that accompanied the answer suggested that while it is not yet a reality, it could become one in the future.
