Manchester City start the Champions League with a draw in Leipzig

Manchester City are set to start their Champions League campaign with a tough draw against RB Leipzig on Wednesday night. The Citizens will be looking to bounce back from heartbreak last time out, where they were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in the last hurdle.

However, City will be looking to get their group stage off to the best possible start, given the complicated nature of their group, which includes Lionel Messi’s PSG and Belgian club Club Brugge. With Leipzig a strong team and PSG a joint favorite with Guardiola’s team for the trophy, there is sure to be a great team coming out of the group stage of the Champions League in November.

Guardiola reveals that passion has not changed

During his pre-match press conference, Guardiola was asked if his momentum remained the same, after he allegedly said he would leave Manchester City in 2023.

However, the Spaniard refuted these claims and instead confirmed that his passion had not changed. saying:

Every time I start this competition with drive. I am incredibly happy here. Man City took a step forward last season, we improved a lot. We had 13 games and won 11.

We played incredibly well in Porto when we drew and deserved to win. We lost the final. People may say that MC was a failure, but he was an incredible achievement last season by playing very well in many of the games and losing well to a great contender.

Now we start a new one and all the teams want to win. We are going to try but I won’t tell you which team is going to win because I don’t know.
