Everton’s Demarai Gray strangely handed over a baguette after being substituted against Burnley

Everton's Demarai Gray strangely handed over a baguette after being substituted against Burnley

Everton sweeps Burnley aside

Everton continued their brilliant start to the season with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Burnley at Goodison Park last night. Although they found themselves 1-0 down shortly after the break, three goals from Toffees in six minutes ensured that it was Rafa Benítez’s team that walked away with all three points, and remained undefeated this Premier League campaign.

While it was undeniable that this goal from Andros Townsend stole the headlines, winger Demarai Gray had another brilliant outing, scoring the third goal of the night, and the third of the season, with a quiet finish.

It’s been a start to the season for the former Leicester player, who returned to the Premier League this summer with little fanfare and for the measly £ 1.7m fee from Bundesliga Bayer Leverkusen.

However, it has proven crucial to Everton’s strong start to the season and has already become one of the bargains of the summer.

Strange moment when Gray handed out a baguette after being substituted.

However, there was a strange moment when Demarai Gray was substituted from the procedure. With only moments left in the game, one of the technical staff offered Gray a loaf of bread as he walked off the field.

We’ve certainly seen scenes of players being handed out energy bars or drinks before being substituted, but are they handed out a baguette?

Strange.
